Back in the game again

Well, it's been over a year since I've posted here. I guess life just became busy and some things had to go, blogging being one of them. Most of my needle arts kind of went by the wayside as well, but I'm back in the game again.

Of our exciting news in the past few months, we bought a house and took possession in July. It's fun going through all the boxes that were packed away in storage for almost 18 months. Many of them being my crafts, yarns, etc. I've come to realize that my stash is huge. My tastes have also changed. So, in the coming months, I hope to do much de-stashing, whether by giving to friends, donating, selling or trading.

On a project note, I have a few projects started or finished. My most recent is the Men's Cashmere Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Mine is done in two strands of wool. I love the burgundy colour and decided to add a few stripes at each end. It's really warm. I made it purposely for the coming winter walks in the snow/cold.

I bought the wool at my knitting guild around last March or so. The wool is what I call the "natural" type -- I have no idea what the correct terminology is. It's worsted, quite rough and has little bits of hay in it. What's this stuff really called??

I love fall, except for the dampness. So, to cheer me up (it's also that "SAD" time of year), I decorated the house with some fall & Halloween items. Here are a couple of the fall "scenes" in our house.

I'll post the Halloween decorations another day.

The boys had fun playing in the leaves yesterday.
